The conversation usually starts with, “So what do you do for fun?”

My reply was typically, “I love to ride my bike, golf, read, spend time with my family; and I make furniture”.

The response was, “Furniture, what kind?”

I’d pull out my phone and show some photos of past projects. The response was always, “Wow, that’s beautiful. You should try and sell some of your work!”
